Hands in Prayer

Hands in Prayer — original painting by Nourhan Salama

Two hands meet in prayer, their outlines etched in fine dark lines over a surface of earth, rust, amber and violet. The texture is layered like old plaster or ancient stone, so the hands seem to emerge from the wall of a sanctuary. Humble and timeless, the painting speaks of faith, hope and the silent conversation between a person and the divine.
