Gifts of the Nile
The Nile runs through this canvas as a ribbon of silver-blue, carrying with it the treasures of Egypt: a golden ankh crowned in a ring of light, the watchful Eye of Horus, lotus blossoms in coral and sage, a lone palm, pyramids and obelisks under a pale moon. Gold leaf and sweeping rays of terracotta give the scene the glow of a temple at sunset. A love letter to the river that gave Egypt its life.
