Sobek's Awakening

A pale crocodile, built from thick, sculpted strokes of white and silver, opens its jaws on a shore of molten gold. Above it, a blood-red sun burns through a sky of rust and shadow. The crocodile was sacred to Sobek, god of the Nile's power and protection, and here he wakes in ivory armour. Raw, primal and commanding, the painting holds the ancient strength of the river.
